In all the organizations, the information systems should see the success of its implementation measured. From the model, the measures to be studied were elaborated in diverse questions having a 6-point Likert scale for the answers. Several identifiable validation relationships in the proposed model, on which the study has been based, were summarised as seven hypotheses of relationships between the variables. The model has proved its validity and suitability for the measurement of web 2. The results show that the satisfaction of the user is a strong inducer of liquid benefits, at individual and organizational level, in line with other studies in the literature. Using the technique of a qualitative literature review, this research reviews papers found in the academic literature for the period — dealing with some aspect of IS success. Measures for the six success constructs are described and 15 pairwise associations between the success constructs are analyzed. In , organizations continue to increase spending on information technology IT and their budgets continue to rise, even in the face of potential economic downturns Kanaracus, However, fears about economic conditions and increasing competition create pressures to cut costs, which require organizations to measure and examine the benefits and costs of technology. Naturally, organizations are interested in knowing the return on these investments. The impacts of IT are often indirect and influenced by human, organizational, and environmental factors; therefore, measurement of information systems IS success is both complex and illusive.

The information systems success model alternatively IS success model or Delone and McLean IS success model is an information systems IS theory which seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of IS success by identifying, describing, and explaining the relationships among six of the most critical dimensions of success along which information systems are commonly evaluated. Initial development of the theory was undertaken by William H. DeLone and Ephraim R. McLean in , [1] and was further refined by the original authors a decade later in response to feedback received from other scholars working in the area. Information quality refers to the quality of the information that the system is able to store, deliver, or produce, and is one of the most common dimensions along which information systems are evaluated.

Measuring KMS success: A respecification of the DeLone and McLean's model

In order to provide a general and comprehensive definition of IS success that covers different perspectives of evaluating information systems, DeLone and McLean reviewed the existing definitions of IS success and their corresponding measures, and classified them into six major categories. The updated model consists of six interrelated dimensions of IS success: information, system and service quality, intention to use, user satisfaction, and net benefits. The arrows demonstrate proposed associations between the success dimensions. The model can be interpreted as follows: A system can be evaluated in terms of information, system, and service quality; these characteristics affect the subsequent use or intention to use and user satisfaction. As a result of using the system, certain benefits will be achieved.
